include monitoring the health of shelter animals through daily rounds, following up on medical issues using established protocols, and administering medications and vaccines. The role also involves checking in new animals, assisting the veterinarian during surgery, and professionally addressing inquiries from team members, volunteers, and adopters.
Candidates must be a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) graduate from an AVMA-accredited program with a strong foundation in general veterinary medicine and experience. Essential qualities include confidence, conscientiousness, a genuine interest in animal welfare, excellent communication skills, and the ability to remain focused and organized in a busy environment.
