The Certified Hand Therapist is responsible for the full cycle of patient care, including evaluation, developing the plan of care, treatment, re-evaluation, discharge, and maintaining high-quality communication for hand therapy services. They must provide comprehensive and individualized treatment programs while enhancing client relations with facilities and staff.
Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited school for occupational or physical therapy and hold specialty certification or licensure in hand therapy, along with national registration and state licensure. Previous demonstrated marketing experience and solid experience in applying custom splinting for pre and post-operative orthopedic conditions are also required.
Responsible for the evaluation, plan of care, treatment, re-evaluation, discharge, and appropriate communications of high quality hand therapy services to patients and customers. Provide comprehensive and individualized treatment programs. Maintain positive level of interaction with facilities and clients. Enhance and expand client relations with facilities and their staff. Stay current and up to date with Occupational Therapy research and employ Evidence Based Practice (RCB, clinician expertise, patient perception).
