The technician monitors noninvasive cardiac activity and other clinical parameters for patients from adolescence to geriatric using continuous electrocardiographic display and pulse oximetry. Responsibilities include interpreting cardiac rhythms, performing critical alarm handoffs with nursing, maintaining monitoring data, and providing daily reports via the EMR.
A high school education is required, though a Certified Cardiovascular Technician School or comparable certification is preferred. Candidates must possess excellent knowledge of advanced ECG interpretation, demonstrated by skills validation, along with strong written and verbal communication skills.
