Medical Assistants at all levels provide supportive patient care functions under supervision, ensuring patient safety and comfort, with higher levels administering injectables and performing advanced clinical procedures. Higher-level MAs also serve as resources for less experienced staff.
Candidates must have a High School Diploma or GED and be a graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program, along with current BLS certification from the American Heart Association. Experience requirements vary by level, ranging from no experience required with certification to 8+ years for MA III.
