The Phlebotomist performs various specimen collection techniques, including venipuncture and capillary draws, while ensuring all procedures adhere to laboratory guidelines and regulatory standards. Responsibilities also include specimen accessioning, transport, answering department calls, and maintaining professionalism in a patient-centered manner.
Candidates must possess a High School diploma or equivalent and have completed an accredited phlebotomy or medical assistant program with clinical experience, or have previous phlebotomy experience. Certification from a nationally recognized agency such as ASCP or NHA is required.
