The Orthopedic Spine Surgeon will provide comprehensive surgical and non-surgical care for patients with spinal disorders, including diagnosis, operative and perioperative management, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. This role involves performing various spine surgical procedures and managing both operative and non-operative treatments.
Candidates must hold an MD or DO from an accredited medical school, complete an accredited orthopedic surgery residency, and have fellowship training in spine surgery. They must be board-eligible or board-certified and able to obtain unrestricted medical licensure in North Dakota and/or Minnesota.

The Orthopedic Spine Surgeon provides comprehensive surgical and non-surgical care for patients with disorders of the spine. Evaluate and manage patients with spinal disorders including degenerative disease, trauma, deformity, tumors, and infections Diagnose and treat conditions such as spinal stenosis, disc herniation, spondylolisthesis, scoliosis, and spinal instability Perform spine surgical procedures consistent with training and privileges, including minimally invasive and complex reconstructive techniques Provide non-operative spine care including injections, bracing, and rehabilitation planning as appropriate Manage perioperative and postoperative care, including complications and recovery Participate in emergency and on-call coverage for spine-related conditions Interpret diagnostic studies including X-rays, CT scans, MRI, and other spinal imaging Collaborate with neurosurgery, pain management, physical medicine and rehabilitation, anesthesia, and physical therapy Educate patients regarding diagnoses, treatment options, surgical risks, and expected outcomes Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and outcomes initiatives Supervise and educate residents, fellows, advanced practice providers, or trainees as applicable Comply with all regulatory, accreditation, and professional standards
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school Completion of an accredited orthopedic surgery residency program Fellowship training in spine surgery Board-eligible or board-certified in Orthopedic Surgery Ability to obtain and maintain unrestricted state medical licensure DEA registration or eligibility Skills and Competencies Expertise in operative and non-operative spine care Strong clinical judgment and advanced surgical skills Ability to manage complex spinal pathology and high-acuity cases Excellent communication and patient counseling abilities Commitment to evidence-based practice, quality improvement, and patient safety Work Environment Hospital operating rooms, outpatient clinics, ambulatory surgery centers, and inpatient units Call coverage including nights, weekends, and holidays as required Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods during surgical procedures Manual dexterity and physical stamina for complex operative cases Visual and auditory acuity sufficient for operative and clinical care Must maintain state certification and/or licensure.
