Provide comprehensive care for patients with pulmonary disease, sleep disorders, and critical illness, including inpatient critical care management, pulmonary consultation, and outpatient services. This involves diagnosing and treating a wide range of conditions and performing necessary procedures.
Requires an MD or DO with completion of accredited Internal Medicine residency and Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine fellowship. Must be board-eligible or certified in Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine, and licensed in both North Dakota and Minnesota.

The Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine Physician provides comprehensive care for patients with pulmonary disease, sleep disorders, and critical illness. Provide direct care for critically ill patients in medical, surgical, or mixed intensive care units Evaluate and manage acute respiratory failure, sepsis, shock, and multi-organ dysfunction Diagnose and treat pulmonary conditions including COPD, asthma, interstitial lung disease, pulmonary infections, lung cancer, and pulmonary hypertension Provide outpatient pulmonary clinic care and inpatient pulmonary consultation services Diagnose and manage sleep disorders including obstructive sleep apnea, central sleep apnea, insomnia, hypersomnia, and circadian rhythm disorders Interpret sleep studies and manage positive airway pressure and other sleep-related therapies Perform and supervise procedures consistent with training and privileges, including bronchoscopy, airway management, mechanical ventilation, thoracentesis, and vascular access Interpret pulmonary diagnostic studies including pulmonary function tests, imaging, and sleep studies Participate in rapid response, code, and emergency airway teams as required Lead and participate in multidisciplinary ICU rounds and care coordination Communicate effectively with patients and families regarding clinical status, prognosis, and goals of care Supervise and educate residents, fellows, advanced practice providers, and nursing staff as applicable Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and outcomes initiatives Comply with all regulatory, accreditation, and professional standards
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school Completion of an accredited Internal Medicine residency program Completion of an accredited Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine fellowship Board-eligible or board-certified in Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine Board certification or eligibility in Sleep Medicine preferred Ability to obtain and maintain unrestricted state medical licensure DEA registration or eligibility BLS and ACLS certification Skills and Competencies Expertise in pulmonary, critical care, and sleep medicine Strong clinical judgment and rapid decision-making abilities Ability to manage high-acuity and complex patients Excellent communication and interdisciplinary teamwork skills Commitment to evidence-based practice, quality improvement, and patient safety Work Environment Intensive care units, inpatient hospital settings, outpatient pulmonary and sleep clinics, and sleep laboratories Call and shift-based scheduling including nights, weekends, and holidays as required Physical Requirements Ability to stand and move throughout ICU, hospital, and clinic environments Manual dexterity for bedside and procedural tasks Visual and auditory acuity sufficient for patient monitoring and emergency response Facility will sponsor J1 or H1B visa candidates for 2027 Must maintain state certification and/or licensure.
