The MRI Technologist is responsible for ensuring patient safety and producing high-quality Magnetic Resonance Imaging studies, which includes thorough pre-screening for contraindications and proper injection techniques. This role also involves conducting safety screenings, administering contrast media, evaluating scan quality, and communicating effectively with patients, staff, and radiologists.
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, and an Associate’s degree or equivalent experience is required. Essential certifications include active ARRT (R), ARRT (MR), or ARMRIT certification, along with active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
The MRI Technologist is responsible for ensuring patient safety and producing high-quality Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) studies. This role requires effective communication with patients, staff, and radiologists, and may include training new technologists and/or patient coordinators as needed.
Note: This is a PRN, as needed, position
Ensure patient safety, including thorough pre-screening for MRI contraindications and proper aseptic injection techniques Produce high-quality diagnostic MRI images Position patients using appropriate immobilization and protective equipment to comply with safety regulations and ensure patient/staff safety Conduct MRI safety screenings prior to procedure performance Start IVs and administer contrast media as directed and according to protocol Evaluate MRI scans for technical quality and accuracy Manage supplies, assist with daily cleaning of MRI unit, and support patient transport preparation Communicate effectively with patients, staff, and radiologists Train new technologists and/or patient coordinators as assigned Coordinate scheduling logistics and assist with patient flow to optimize efficiency Conduct MRI safety screenings prior to procedure performance by identifying and mitigating potential hazards related to magnetic fields, equipment, and patient conditions within the MRI environment.
