The role involves assisting physicians in patient care and teaching by assessing physical and psychosocial status through interviews, examinations, and studies, and writing prescriptions based on protocols. Responsibilities also include determining patient eligibility for clinical trials, interpreting study findings, and managing family dynamics during acute and chronic care phases.
Candidates must graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program, hold a master’s degree in nursing or a post-masters certificate, and be licensed or eligible for licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Florida. Required certifications include AANP, ANCC, or ONCC, along with current BLS certification.
