Under direct supervision, the intern will perform tasks such as monitoring drug therapy to enhance patient outcomes and quality of care. Responsibilities also include recommending cost-effective pharmacotherapeutic alternatives and ensuring accurate and efficient medication distribution.
Candidates must be currently enrolled in an accredited school of Pharmacy and must register as a Pharmacy Intern/Extern with the Alabama State Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire. No prior experience is required, but excellent communication skills and proficiency in mathematics are necessary to handle a fast-paced environment.
Overview Under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist in the state of Alabama, a pharmacy intern may perform the following tasks: monitor drug therapy to improve patient outcome and quality of care; recommend rational and cost-effective pharmacotherapeutic alternatives and provide accurate and efficient medication distribution; implement and evaluate nutritional support and pharmacokinetic regimens.
