The Medical Technologist performs routine and complex laboratory procedures using standard and specialized techniques and equipment on biological specimens to aid physicians in patient diagnosis and treatment. This role requires exercising professional judgment to efficiently recognize, prioritize, and facilitate varying test requests and workload.
Candidates must possess either a Bachelor’s degree in a related field or an Associate’s degree in a related field plus four years of laboratory experience. Applicants are required to hold current ASCP or AMT certification (MLS or MT).
Performs a variety of routine and complex laboratory procedures under supervision using standard and specialized techniques, instrumentation and equipment on a wide variety of biological specimens to assist the physician in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Exercises professional judgment in order to recognize, prioritize, and facilitate varying test requests and workload in an efficient manner. Assumes responsibility and accountability for accuracy of procedures performed.
Bachelor’s degree in related field OR Associate’s degree in related field with 4 years of laboratory experience required
