The Apprentice Nursing Student provides direct patient care while adhering to established patient care standards, working under the guidance of a licensed nurse mentor. Responsibilities also include demonstrating the ability to work effectively with diverse populations and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
Candidates must possess a High School diploma or GED and be currently enrolled in a Board-approved nursing education program, actively engaged in a registered apprenticeship. Furthermore, applicants are required to have obtained a Student Nurse Apprentice permit from the Alabama Board of Nursing.
Overview The Apprentice Nursing Student works under a supervising licensed nurse serving in the role of mentor. The responsibilities of the Apprentice Nursing Student include providing direct patient care and maintaining patient care standards. The Apprentice Nursing Student must exhibit the ability to work with people form diverse socio-economic backgrounds; to organize, set priorities and manage multiple priorities, and to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
Education required: High School diploma/GED. Candidates must meet the following criteria: Enrolled in a Board approved nursing education program.
