The Physician Advisor will apply clinical expertise to evaluate medical service requests, interpret benefit language and medical policies, and make sound coverage determinations. Core duties include performing clinical coverage reviews, documenting outcomes according to standards, and participating in peer-to-peer discussions with treating providers.
Candidates must hold an active, unencumbered state medical license (MD/DO) and current board certification in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine, along with a minimum of five years of direct patient care experience. Eligibility requires high computer proficiency and the ability to be fully dedicated during scheduled work hours while residing within the United States.

POSITION OVERVIEW Our Part-Time Medical Director, also known as a Physician Advisor, is responsible for performing clinical utilization management, peer review activities, and clinical quality management activities.
Work Schedule 16-28 hour per week requirement Flexible, prescheduled shifts between 6AM - 7PM MT Week on / week off scheduling permitted for those working Hospitalist shifts elsewhere Includes 2-3 weekend rotating shifts per month Schedules are determined by physician and fixed 2 months in advance
Compensation Hourly pay rate is $115.00 W2, non-benefited position
Skills and Experience Minimum of five years’ full-time equivalent experience providing direct clinical care to patients Minimum of five years’ experience administering utilization management and peer review programs preferred Credentialed and privileged by the Company's Credentialing Committee Obtain additional state licensure as required for the position
MD/DO degree Current, unrestricted medical license as required for clinical practice in a state of the United States Board certification by a medical specialty board approved by the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or other board recognized by URAC preferred
Ability to sit at a desk, utilize a computer, telephone, and other basic office equipment is required. This role is designed to be a remote position (work-from-home).
