The Surgical Assistant will support the surgeon during critical procedures by anticipating needs, preparing equipment, positioning the patient, and performing tasks such as retracting tissue, maintaining hemostasis, and closing wound layers. This role requires strict adherence to OR procedures regarding attire, infection control, and compliance practices.
include an Associate's Degree and graduation from an accredited Surgical Assistant program, along with Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) certification within the first year of hire. Candidates must also possess Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification and have two years of peri-operative practice experience in an acute care facility.
