The primary purpose is to provide highly technical nursing care to cardiovascular patients and assist physicians during all cardiovascular procedures, acting as a liaison between patients, families, and doctors. Accountabilities include maintaining complete documentation of procedures, participating in continuing education, and ensuring quality control and a safe environment within the lab.
Candidates typically need two years of cardiac cath lab experience, with proficiency in PTCA and preferred EPS experience, alongside an AAS in RTR or an RTN license, or five years of equivalent experience. Required credentials include a current state license (IL RTR, RTN, RCVT, or Paramedic), ACLS, IABP, and obtaining RCIS within two years, while also being able to handle high-stress environments and physical demands.
To provide professional, highly technical nursing care to all cardiovascular patients, while assisting physicians during all cardiovascular procedures. Function as a liaison for patients, patient's families, and physicians. Assist physicians in the operation of technical equipment utilized during all procedures.
