The Physical Therapist is responsible for delivering safe and competent physical therapy services as ordered by a physician. This includes planning, organizing, and implementing specific treatment programs for individual patients and collaborating with the interdisciplinary treatment team.
Candidates must possess a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree or equivalent from a CAPTE-accredited program, though certain Master's or Bachelor's degrees conferred before specific dates may be accepted. A current Florida Physical Therapist license is required, though a temporary permit may be accepted, and no prior experience is explicitly required.
