The Certified Medical Assistant supports a patient-centered approach by performing multi-skilled activities, including interviewing patients, measuring vital signs, and recording information in medical records under physician direction. This role also involves preparing treatment rooms for examinations and maintaining required annual competencies.
A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with completion of an accredited medical assisting program and preferred one year of patient care experience. Candidates must be certified by AMT, AAMA, NHA, or MedCA and possess current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
