The Occupational Therapist Assistant will collaborate with the Occupational Therapist and other team members to plan, implement, and evaluate occupational therapy services for patients receiving care in their homes. This role is based in Jasper, Indiana, and is part of the Deaconess Home Health team.
Candidates must possess an Associate of Applied Science degree in occupational therapy assistant studies or a related field, along with an active registered OTA license in the state of practice. A minimum of one year of Occupational Therapy Assistant experience in a clinical setting and current CPR/BLS Certification are also required.
Assess patients’ physical, cognitive, and psychosocial abilities to determine therapy needs. Develop and implement personalized treatment plans that may include exercises’, adaptive techniques, and use of assistive devices to improve patients functional abilities. Teach patients and family members about home safety, adaptive equipment, and strategies to manage daily activities effectively. Maintain accurate and timely records of patient progress, treatment plans, and modifications to therapy programs for compliance and regulatory standards. Monitor patients progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to meet changing needs. Utilize outcome-based measures to assess the effectiveness of therapy interventions. Collaborate and communicate patient’s change in condition with physicians, nurses, physical therapists, speech therapists, and other home health team members. Job Requirements Associates of applied science (AAS) degree in occupational therapy assistant studies or a related field. Active registered OTA license in the state which you practice Must obtain and maintain current CPR/BLS Certification One-year Occupational Therapy Assistant experience in a clinical setting.
