The technologist performs specialized examinations of the breast under direct supervision to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of breast disease, which may include screening or diagnostic exams. Essential functions involve greeting and preparing patients, taking physician orders, performing studies, managing film/CD output, and assisting with quality improvement and training new personnel.
Candidates must possess an Associate's Degree in Radiology, which cannot be substituted by experience, and must hold a Radiologic Technologist [MA] license. Preferred qualifications include 1-2 years of mammography work experience and ARRT registration in Radiologic Technology and Mammography.
