The Medical Laboratory Technician provides technical assistance by performing routine tests, which includes preparing reagents, examining and analyzing bodily fluids and cells, and reporting abnormalities. Key duties also involve performing phlebotomy and operating the blood bank for type and cross-match procedures.
Candidates must possess either a Bachelor of Science in medical technology or a related field, or be a graduate of an accredited MLT program, along with ASCP or AMT certification. Two years of experience in a hospital setting is preferred, and all applicants must pass a drug screening.
