The Medical Social Worker implements standards of care by assessing the psychosocial status of patients related to their illness and environment, communicating findings, and developing intervention plans. Responsibilities also include maintaining clinical records, providing information to patients/families, serving as a liaison, and participating in the total plan of care and discharge planning.
Candidates must be graduates of a bachelor's program in Social Work accredited by the Council on Social Work Education and must be licensed as a Clinical Social Worker by the Board of Behavioral Sciences. A minimum of one year of healthcare experience, specifically in Home Health care, is required, along with good communication skills and current CPR certification.

Summary The Medical Social Worker is responsible for the implementation of standards of care for medical social work services.
Qualifications and Skills: Graduate of a bachelor's program in Social Work accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. May have a Master's or Doctoral Degree in Social Work. Licensed as a Clinical Social Worker by the Board of Behavioral Sciences. Minimum of one year experience in health care. Experience in Home Health care required. Demonstrate good verbal and written communication, and organization skills. Possesses and maintains current CPR certification. Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state/or organization requirements and is in good working order.
