The role is responsible for preparing the sterile field for surgical operations, including setting up sterile instruments and assisting surgeons with gowning, gloving, and draping patients. The technician directly supports the surgical team during operations by passing instruments, holding retractors, and anticipating the needs of the surgeons.
Candidates must have a High School Diploma or GED and be a graduate of an accredited surgical technology program or possess equivalent military training. Required certifications include BLS and Surgical Technician Certification (TS-C, CST, or NRST), along with at least one year of recent relevant experience.
EDUCATION: HS Diploma or GED Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program (or has certification that evidences education) OR Military training as a scrub tech
BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider Surgical Technician Certification (TS-C, CST, or NRST) is required to be eligible for incentive
1 year of recent relevant experience.
