Key
Responsibilities: Perform client assessment and diagnosis for adult clients and develop a treatment plan, implement the plan and provide follow up and evaluation. Complete a psychiatric assessment; which includes obtaining a relevant health and medical history and ordering pertinent diagnostic tests. Provide a psychiatric diagnosis based on the multiaxial system used by the DSM-IV-TR Axis 1 -5. Implement a treatment plan, which may include provision of brief psychotherapy and/or prescription of psychotropic medications. Prescribe psychotropic medication and order pertinent diagnostic tests as delegated per a current written collaborative practice or supervision agreement with the Staff Psychiatrist. Provides services utilizing his/her experience and ability to meet the needs of the client and the goals of treatment. Carries a caseload, the size and nature of which is to be established with supervisory staff. Communicates with attending physician as necessary to identify problems and establish goals and objectives for treatment. Provides and/or coordinates a comprehensive follow-up to all clients for whom he/she has been responsible. Is sensitive and responsible to management needs, such as data collection, program evaluation, development of grant applications, maintenance of various contracts for services, etc. Participates in all required meetings. Certified physician assistants must pass a recertification examination every 10 years and complete at least 100 hours of continuing medical education every 2 years. Must possess and maintain current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Missouri, a certificate of recognition as an Advanced Practice Nurse in the state of Missouri and credentialing as an Adult Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner by a national certification body recognized by the state of Missouri.
