The role involves providing outpatient urologic care, including patient evaluations, follow-ups, and treatment planning for common urologic conditions. Responsibilities also include performing office-based procedures and collaborating closely with physicians and clinical staff.
Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program and licensed or eligible for licensure in Virginia, with BLS certification required. A minimum of three years of clinical experience is preferred, along with NCCPA certification for PAs or national NP certification.
Carilion Clinic is seeking a full-time Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our Urology team in the New River Valley (NRV). This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative, patient-centered environment alongside experienced urologists and clinical staff. Key Responsibilities Provide outpatient urologic care including patient evaluations, follow-ups, and treatment planning Manage common urologic conditions (e.g., BPH, kidney stones, urinary tract conditions, prostate concerns) Perform office-based procedures as appropriate (training provided if needed) Collaborate closely with physicians, nursing, and support staff Participate in patient education and care coordination Document care in the electronic medical record (Epic) Schedule Full-time, Monday–Friday; primarily 8-5 On call up to 2-3 times per week Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program Licensed or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia NCCPA certification (PA) or national NP certification 2 years APP experience preferred; Urology experience preferred

Must demonstrate and maintain all credentialing and licensing requirements of Carilion Clinic, the Virginia Board of Medicine or the Virginia Board of Nursing, and appropriate certifying bodies. Capable of meeting credentialing or job function requirements as needed based on the requirements of the practice and of managed care payors and insurers. Qualifies for malpractice insurance and is accepted by Carilion Clinic’s malpractice insurance carrier. Able to work collaboratively with physicians and other health care providers. Demonstrates good written and oral communication skills. Computer literacy required for automated computer systems, including electronic medical records.
