As an Occupational Therapy Assistant, the primary role involves implementing occupational therapy programs and activities, following developed recovery plans, and delivering therapy treatments to help patients regain physical abilities and independence. This includes addressing the whole patient while executing programs designed to restore, reinforce, and enhance their physical capabilities.
Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program following AOTA & ACOTE standards and must have obtained initial certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy. Additionally, applicants must be licensed or eligible for licensure as required by the state of practice.
