The Dentist is responsible for providing all aspects of general dentistry, including diagnosis and treatment consistent with their training, while delivering high-quality care in a community health center setting. This role also involves managing and directing staff assignments according to established policies and procedures, with flexibility required for occasional hygiene duties.
Candidates must be graduates of an ADA-accredited dental school and possess a valid DDS or DMD license for practice in California, along with current BLS certification and active DEA registration. One to two years of experience in general dentistry is required, though completion of GPR/AEGD and experience in public health or with pediatric patients are preferred.
The salary range listed is based on a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week (1.0 FTE). For employees who work fewer than 40 hours per week, the salary range will be prorated based on hours worked.
Providing preventative dental care and clinical dental services in a community health center setting. Uses EPIC, digital Dexis X-ray and NextGen Electronic Health Records System. Delivers high quality care to patients. Manages and directs staff assignments and activities in accordance with Marin Community Clinics, Dental Compliance Policies and Procedures, Dental Manual, and applicable California Laws. Flexibility is a must. Dentist may have to perform hygiene duties independently on an as needed basis. Expected to treat other patients that are on the clinic’s schedule in addition to treating assigned patients.
Education and Experience: Graduate of an ADA-accredited dental school. Possession of a valid DDS or DMD license to practice dentistry in the State of California. Active California Dental License in good standing. Current BLS certification. Active DEA registration. One to two years of experience in general dentistry. Completion of a GPR or AEGD program is preferred. Prior experience in a community health or public health dental setting is highly desirable. Experience providing dental care to pediatric patients is preferred. Experience in oral surgery and endodontics is a plus. Previous experience working in a bi-cultural or multicultural dental clinic environment is preferred. Familiarity with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems is a plus. Required Skills and Abilities: Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required. Flexible to work evenings and weekends as necessary in either San Rafael and/or Novato clinics. Must possess good interpersonal skills to maintain and establish good relationships with dental team and patients. Excellent communication skills. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Fulfill immunization and fit for duty regulatory requirements. May be required to occasionally lift at least 20 – 25lbs. Prolonged standing, walking and working on a computer.
