Provide high-quality, evidence-based comprehensive outpatient primary care for an assigned patient panel. Conduct routine preventive, acute, and urgent care while collaborating with mid-level practitioners and participating in quality management.
Requires a valid California medical license, Board Certification or Eligibility in Internal Medicine, and a DEA registration. Candidates should have 3-5 years of clinical experience and preferably experience in an FQHC setting.
Provides high quality, evidence-based comprehensive outpatient primary care for an assigned patient panel consistent with their specialty training (e.g. Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, Family Medicine) and privileging. Conducts routine preventive care, acute and urgent care, and follow up care for the management of chronic health conditions. Provides consultation to mid-level practitioners working at the clinic consistent with their medical specialty. Participates in quality management activities as assigned by the Medical Director. Participates in the direction and development of health care services provided by Marin Community Clinics as a member of the primary health care team. In addition to regularly scheduled shifts, must be able to work a minimum of three (3) 4-hour Saturday shifts per calendar year, providing medical care to patients within the standard scope of practice. Requirement begins after 90-day training period and compensation for coverage to be outlined in offer.In addition to regularly schedule shifts, required to be available to respond to after-hour calls regarding critical lab results for adult patients throughout the organization for a minimum of 2 weeks per year. Internal Medicine Doctor with three 3-5 years of clinical experience which may include residency in a directly related medical Valid and unrestricted license issued by the Medical Board of California to practice medicine. Board certified or Board Eligible in specified area of medical specialty. Current registration issued by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) allowing the prescription of controlled substances. Prior work experience in outpatient health care setting - Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) is desired. EPIC Electronic Health Records (EHR) experiences a plus. Must maintain Continued Medical Education (CME) as required for certification renewals. Required Skills and Abilities: Bilingual English/Spanish is highly desired. Effective verbal and written communication skills in English is required. Ability to see an average of 18-22 patients per full 8 hour day of clinic. Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for the delivery of medical care. Knowledge of relevant drugs and non-pharmaceutical patient care aids and ability to prescribe dosages and instruct patients in correct usage. Knowledge of community medical diagnostic and patient care services in area of medical expertise. Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards. Knowledge of current principles, methods, and procedures for the delivery of medical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment in area of expertise. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Outlook, Word and Excel. Ability to mentor, provide advice, and train clinical professionals, PA's/NP's and/or students in area of expertise. Ability to work both independently and in a team environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
