RN, Ambulatory Nurse – Baystate Endocrinology Medical Practice SIGN ON BONUS for RN with 1 year outpatient practice experience.
Baystate Health, western Massachusetts’s premier healthcare provider, and home to Baystate Medical Practices is looking for an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Endocrinology Medical Practice !
The practice treats patients with diabetes (Type 1, Type 2, and gestational), thyroid disease, adrenal and pituitary disorders, osteoporosis, hypogonadism, and metabolic syndrome.
Daily operations involve a heavy volume of phone calls, patient portal messages, laboratory results, and frequent device- and medication-related concerns and refills with a high volume of urgent messages, all of which require timely and skilled clinical triage.
In addition to triage responsibilities, RN nurse visits are essential for patient education and the administration of injectable therapies, including insulin, GLP-1 receptor agonists, growth hormone, and osteoporosis medications.
Functions independently to assess develop and implement plan of care for complex patients .
Provides independent quality triage and patient care utilizing strong assessment skills, point of care testing and quality assurance checks.
Establishes plan of care, sets priorities and implements the plan of care with patient/family and team/provider input.
Builds on knowledge and experience to include more diagnoses and complicated medical patients.
Triages and coordinates patient care ensuring access to care and patient success.
Promotes health and wellness for individuals and groups of patients.
Demonstrates a proactive approach to acute and chronic disease management.
Requirements Massachusetts license as an RN and BLS CPR certified.
Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience Experience in outpatient or related nursing experience in the specialty preferred Ability to work in a fast-paced environment & handle multiple tasks/priorities Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
