The Medication Assistant assists with medication administration and ensures compliance with regulations. They document medication administration accurately and respond to resident needs and concerns.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and state-specific training. Experience in a long-term care community and knowledge of medical terminology are preferred.
Assists with medications and maintains compliance with all state and federal regulations and the standards of HRA.
Requirements: Qualifications/Skills/Educational Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent with state specific training required for the position Must obtain valid Continuing Education credits as required by the state (if applicable) Minimum of one (1) year experience Experience in a long-care community and/or geriatric nursing preferred Experience in emergency care and first-aid preferred Good working knowledge of Medication Observation Record (MOR) Able to communicate effectively with all levels of management, associates, residents, family members, and outside contacts Clerical and typing skills including typing, data entry, filing, etc. required Experience with Microsoft Office and Outlook software preferred Knowledge and understanding of medical terminology preferred Able to make independent decisions Must possess a passion to work with and around senior citizens Background Screening Requirement In all Florida Companies, this position requires a Level 2 background screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse.
