The Respiratory Therapist performs therapeutic, diagnostic, and life support respiratory care procedures. They assess, plan, and implement individual treatment plans to meet the needs of each resident.
An associate degree and certification from an approved school of respiratory therapy is required. Candidates must also be licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner and registered as a Respiratory Therapist.
Associate degree and/or certification required from a CoARC (Committee on Accreditation of Respiratory Care Education) approved school of respiratory therapy. Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner by the VA State Board of Medicine. Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care. Experience in a long-term care/rehabilitation facility preferred This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching all day. The employee must frequently lift or move objects weighing over 50 pounds Friendship values diversity.
