The Dosimetrist is responsible for designing and calculating radiation treatment plans for cancer patients. This includes collaborating with Radiation Oncologists and Medical Physicists to ensure precise doses of radiation are delivered while minimizing exposure to healthy tissue.
A minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a clinical radiation oncology setting is preferred. Candidates must be proficient in treatment planning systems and possess a strong understanding of radiation physics and anatomy.
The Dosimetrist is responsible for designing and calculating radiation treatment plans for cancer patients. Working under the supervision of a Medical Physicist and Radiation Oncologist, the Dosimetrist develops individualized treatment plans that deliver precise doses of radiation to targeted areas while minimizing exposure to surrounding healthy tissue. This role requires strong technical knowledge of treatment planning systems, radiologic physics, and anatomy, as well as a deep understanding of radiation oncology practices.
Qualifications: 1-3 years of experience in a clinical radiation oncology setting preferred
Proficient in the use of treatment planning systems and dose calculation software. Strong understanding of radiation physics, human anatomy, and oncology practices. Ability to interpret physician directives and translate them into effective treatment plans. Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Commitment to patient safety, quality assurance, and compliance with regulatory standards.
