Responsible for total nursing care of assigned patients in the medical/surgical area, ensuring safe patient care and a clean environment. Provides care to patients with medical, surgical, and minor psychiatric problems, utilizing the nursing process for quality care.
Candidates must hold a current Maine nursing license and BLS certification, with recent training in medication administration and nursing care processes. Proficient IV skills and basic computer skills are also required, along with emotional maturity and good interpersonal skills.
Responsible for total nursing care of assigned patients in the medical/surgical area. Patients range in age from infants through geriatrics. Responsible for providing care to patients with medical, surgical, and minor psychiatric problems. Renders safe patient care while maintaining a clean and safe patient environment. Utilizes the nursing process to provide quality care to patients in a holistic manner. Provides care to the Swing Bed Program patients in compliance with Critical Access Hospital Standards for provision of care.

Education, Training or Certifications Required: Holds a current Maine license. Current BLS.
Recent training/experience in medication administration. Recent training/experience in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care.
Demonstrates proficient IV skills. Possesses basic computer skills.
Emotional maturity and good people skills required. Able to take in, process and apply clinical information in a wide variety of patient care situations.
Able to sit, stand and walk for an eight or twelve-hour shift. Has adequate hearing, vision, speech and manual dexterity. General health must be such as to regularly work scheduled hours. Able to lift and carry 25 to 50 lbs. (assisting patient in and out of bed, etc.).
Potential for exposure to blood and body fluids. Potential for exposure to contagious diseases.
