The Nurse Navigator monitors prescriptions for oncology patients and ensures proper management of specialty medications. They also serve as patient advocates and educate patients on medication use and side effects.
Candidates must have a current Georgia Nursing License as a Registered Nurse and up to one year of relevant experience. They are also required to become Level I Certified Oncology Nurse within six months and Level II within one year of hire.
Under the leadership of the Director, Pharmacy, the Nurse Navigator is an active member of the Oncology team that delivers medical staff services and office support consistent with the strategic vision, goals, philosophy and direction of the Oncology and Pharmacy Departments and CRHS. The Nurse Navigator fully administers, coordinates, and manages the Specialty Medications for patients receiving prescribed treatment regimens.
• Education:
Requires that within six months of hire to become Level I Certified Oncology Nurse (ONS) and to become Level II certified within one year (or as by ONS guidelines)
