The Phlebotomist I obtains blood and other specimens for laboratory testing, ensuring proper procedures are followed. This role involves working independently and as part of a team, performing clerical duties, and maintaining professional relationships with patients and staff.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Preferred qualifications include CPR certification, phlebotomy certification, and experience in a team-oriented or customer service role.
$1,600.00 Sign on Bonus with 2 year work committment
The Phlebotomist I obtains blood and other specimens according to established policies and procedures from any location where patients may be present for laboratory testing. In doing so, obtains needed supplies, verifies patient identification, prepares skin sites, and performs venipuncture and skin punctures according to established aseptic techniques. Labels specimens and transports same to laboratory for analysis. This position works independently and as a part of a team, performs clerical and/or computer duties associated with the laboratory, and provides timely specimen collection and routing of laboratory specimens. Maintains professional relationships with patients, staff, and physicians. Duties may vary by assigned area and/or shift.
License/Certifications: CPR Certification through the American Heart Association Phlebotomy Technician Certification (PBT) Experience: 6 months in a team orientated environment or customer service role Completion of formal structured phlebotomy program OR 3 months’ full-time phlebotomy experience or equivalent.
