The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides direct patient care and clinical support in a fast-paced urgent care environment. Responsibilities include patient intake, assisting with exams and procedures, administering medications, and ensuring high standards of patient care and safety.
Candidates must have a current LPN license in the state of practice and be a graduate of an accredited practical nursing program. BLS/CPR certification is required, and experience in urgent care or outpatient clinical settings is preferred.
Clinical Care Perform patient intake, including vital signs, chief complaint documentation, and medical history collection Assist providers with exams, procedures, and treatments Administer medications and injections as ordered and within scope of practice Perform point-of-care testing (e.g., rapid strep, flu, COVID, urinalysis, pregnancy tests) Collect and prepare specimens for lab processing Perform wound care, splinting assistance, EKGs, and other clinical tasks as trained Monitor patient condition and report changes to the provider promptly Provide compassionate, respectful, and culturally sensitive care Ensure patient privacy and confidentiality (HIPAA compliance) Educate patients on discharge instructions, medications, and follow-up care Maintain a safe, clean, and organized clinical environment Accurately document care in the electronic medical record (EMR) Follow infection control, OSHA, and safety guidelines Adhere to company policies, clinical protocols, and Employee Code of Conduct Participate in quality improvement initiatives and audits as required Work collaboratively with providers, medical assistants, front desk staff, and leadership Support clinic flow and efficiency during high patient volume Participate in staff meetings, training, and required competencies Work Environment Fast-paced urgent care clinic Exposure to bloodborne pathogens and infectious diseases Weekend, holiday, and extended-hour shifts may be required

QualificationsRequired Current LPN license in the state of practice (active and in good standing) Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program BLS/CPR certification (or ability to obtain upon hire) Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume urgent care setting Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills Preferred Urgent care, emergency, or outpatient clinical experience Experience with EMR systems IV therapy and EKG experience (if permitted by state scope and clinic protocols) Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds Manual dexterity for clinical procedures Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations
