The Chaplain will conduct spiritual assessments, develop individualized care plans, and provide direct emotional and spiritual support to patients and families. They will also serve as a liaison to community clergy, lead memorial services, and participate in interdisciplinary team meetings.
Candidates must hold a graduate degree from an accredited theology or chaplaincy program and possess experience in hospice or end-of-life care. A valid driver's license and insured vehicle are required for travel within the coverage area.
As a Chaplain You will: Conduct and ensure timely spiritual assessments for patients and families Participate in developing individualized care plans to address spiritual needs Provides direct spiritual support to patients, families, and caregivers Serves as a liaison to community chaplains and spiritual counselors Maintains accurate documentation of spiritual services and communications Attends interdisciplinary meetings and contributes to care planning Offers education and spiritual care guidance to the care team Recruits and supports community chaplains, spiritual counselors, and volunteers Coordinates and leads memorial or funeral services as requested Organizes periodic memorials for staff, volunteers, and community partners Assists in supervising spiritual care volunteers
Graduate of an accredited theology or chaplaincy program (BD, MDiv or equivalent theological degree) Experience working with death and dying, hospice experience preferred Comfort in an interfaith setting Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state or organization requirements and is in good working order Ability to accept different lifestyles, cultures, beliefs and values Knowledge of and commitment to hospice philosophy of care Ability to work as member of interdisciplinary group Ability to network with community clergy and congregations About our Line of Business At Ohio Valley Hospice, our primary ambition is to bring first-class care to the warmest and most serene environment possible: home.
