Mentors teach life and social skills to individuals with developmental disabilities within their homes and communities. They assist with daily living activities, support the implementation of Individual Support Plans, and advocate for the needs and rights of the individuals they serve.
Candidates must have a high school diploma and at least one year of experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities. A valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and the ability to pass background and reference checks are mandatory.

IHS Mentors are responsible for teaching life and social skills to individuals in a variety of environments using their home and community as the classroom. Empower individuals in managing and exercising control over their Individual Support Plan (ISP) Directly work with individuals on their ISP goals Assist individuals with activities of daily living when necessary Seek input from individuals and families; and respond accordingly Help individuals to advocate for their needs and desires when necessary. Recognize and support the individual’s rights to make decisions, choices, and the right to take risks Supervise overall medical health, nutrition, social and general welfare Assist in the completion of assessments and other paperwork as assigned
High School diploma required (BA degree in Human Services or related field preferred) At least 1 year of experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities is required 3 years of experience preferred A passion and dedication to supporting our people is a must Valid Driver’s License, reliable transportation, and acceptable driving record Must pass company background and reference checks Check out our website: https://communitasma.org/
