The Surgical Scheduler is responsible for coordinating surgical procedures, managing provider schedules, and ensuring all pre-operative documentation and insurance authorizations are complete. They also serve as a primary point of contact for patients regarding scheduling, pre-operative instructions, and procedure-related inquiries.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, with an associate's degree or certificate in medical office administration preferred. Applicants are required to have 1–3 years of experience in medical scheduling, proficiency with EMR systems, and knowledge of surgical procedures and insurance verification.

The current MAs will backfill and support administrative duties, which will allow the Surgical Scheduler dedicated time to schedule surgeries efficiently. Additional responsibilities required.
• 1–3 years of experience scheduling surgical procedures in a hospital, outpatient surgical center, or specialty clinic.
• Familiarity with pre-authorization requirements, insurance verification, and surgical coding.
• Proficiency with EMR systems (e.g., Athena, Epic, Cerner) for scheduling and documentation.
• Accuracy in scheduling, verifying insurance, and documenting patient information.
