The Emergency Department RN provides timely treatment to patients, maintains order during surges, and collaborates with physicians to achieve positive outcomes. They are responsible for triaging patients, documenting care according to EMTALA standards, and participating in performance improvement initiatives.
Candidates must be graduates of an accredited nursing school and hold a current California RN license. Required certifications include CPR, ACLS, and PALS, along with a minimum of one year of emergency department experience.
Experience: Minimum of one (1) year ED RN experience Education: Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing. Current California RN license Current CPR, ACLS, and PALS. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Ability to utilize the nursing process in the provision of ED nursing care including but not limited to administering treatments and medications, interpreting diagnostic tests, formulating a plan of care, collaborating with other health care providers and providing education to patients and/or significant others.
Appropriately and efficiently triages all patients seeking medical care from our Emergency Department for their injury or illness or concern. Assigns appropriate ESI (Emergency Severity Index) acuity level.
