The Clinical Pharmacist is responsible for interpreting physician orders, monitoring drug therapies, and providing clinical interventions to ensure safe medication use. They also oversee pharmacy technicians, manage inventory, and provide direct education to patients regarding their disease states and medications.
Candidates must hold a Pharmacy degree and possess at least one year of pharmacist experience, with hospital experience preferred. Licensure in Florida and certifications in BLS and ACLS are required.
The Clinical Pharmacist prepares medications by reviewing and interpreting physician orders; optimizes medications by monitoring drug therapies and advising interventions. This position is also responsible for providing education and professional development for pharmacy staff regarding pharmaceutical care and clinical guidelines.
BLS, provided by the American Heart Association (AHA), required within 30 days of hire. ACLS, provided by the American Heart Association (AHA), required within 90 days of hire – not required for PRN employees.
