The Direct Support Professional assists individuals with intellectual and developmental challenges by implementing individualized service plans. They facilitate community participation by accompanying participants to various activities such as work, school, and social events.
The role requires the ability to safely perform duties related to the well-being of participants in accordance with state policy manuals. Candidates must be prepared to work in various community settings and private homes.

The Direct Support Professional safely performs varied, but highly important duties related to the overall well-being of individuals who deal with intellectual and developmental challenges. Our participants reside with their family members/caregivers, in their own homes or in licensed settings. The Direct Support Professional performs various duties, including the implementation of strategies and activities derived from the Individualized Service Plans, including trips to museums, parties, work, school, movies, local businesses, community events, etc., in accordance with the Division of Developmental Disabilities Support Program and Community Care Program Policy and Procedure Manuals.
