The Hospice CNA provides direct personal care, mobility assistance, and emotional support to terminally ill patients in their homes. They are also responsible for monitoring patient conditions, assisting with medications, and maintaining accurate documentation for the interdisciplinary care team.
Candidates must have completed at least 75 hours of state-approved training and possess a minimum of six months of experience in personal care. A current CPR certification and the ability to work independently in a hospice environment are required.
Meets the training requirements of the State Completed a minimum of 75 hours of classroom and supervised practical training 16 hours of classroom must be completed prior to a mandatory 16 hours of practical training Minimum of six months experience including providing personal care At least 18 years of age Ability to read and follow written instructions and document care given Understands hospice philosophy, comfortable providing care to the terminally ill Satisfactory references from previous employers Ability to work with little direct supervision Secure with issues of death/dying Provides a calm manner when in a patient’s home Possess and maintains current CPR certification Demonstrates tact, patience, and good personal hygiene Successfully completes a probationary period This probationary period is to ensure the aide is competent in the above qualifications and is documented by the supervisor and the employee Strong oral and written communication skills Good organizational skills About our Line of Business Hospice Home Care, an affiliate of BrightSpring Health Services, focuses on providing hospice care to local patients and their families.
