Performs technical bone densitometry and mammographic procedures while ensuring patient safety and comfort. Manages image processing, quality control, and documentation within the Radiology Department.
Requires completion of an accredited radiologic technology program and current ARRT and mammography certifications. Candidates must have at least two years of relevant radiology experience.
BASIC KNOWLEDGE:Completion of formal training in an AMA-approved accredited school of radiologic technology or equivalent. Maintains a current license to work in the State of Rhode Island. Must hold current ARRT certification and current mammography certification. If performing BD exams also needs ISCD (or ARRT) certificate.Must maintain requirements as outlined by the Mammography Quality Standards Act, American College of Radiology, and ISCD (if applicable).Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to patients with consideration of aging processes, human development stages and cultural patterns in each step of the care process.EXPERIENCE:Minimum of two years of Radiology experience including proficiency in the following procedures: Routine bone density and mammography. Two years of mammography experience required to perform mammography proceduresAbility to consistently meet the following job accountabilities: critical thinking, interpersonal skills, team membership, customer focus, initiative and reliability. Works with medical equipment and has direct patient contact. Any potential hazards are minimized by adherence to established safety procedures and precautions including use safety equipment and protective clothing.Walks and stands intermittently throughout the day. Subject to electrical and energy hazards. May lift and position patients and lift supplies up to 50 pounds.
