The Dental Assistant will support dentists during routine and specialized procedures, including oral surgery and endodontics. They are also responsible for maintaining sterile environments, performing dental imaging, and providing patient education.
Candidates must have completed a one-year CODA-accredited Dental Assistant program and possess at least one year of relevant experience. Additionally, a valid radiology certification, BLS/CPR certification, and a U.S. driver's license are required.
Assist dentists during routine and specialized dental procedures, including oral surgery, endodontics, periodontics, prosthodontics, and implant procedures Prepare operatories and surgical suites; clean and turnover rooms efficiently Pass instruments safely and maintain clear operative fields Prepare dental materials and medicaments per manufacturer instructions Perform diagnostic‑quality dental imaging Utilize radiation safety techniques and minimize retakes Follow all infection control and sterilization procedures Prepare instruments for sterilization per SPD standards Clean, document, and maintain reusable medical equipment Take impressions and fabricate temporary crowns Remove sutures, periodontal dressings, and temporary restorations Perform coronal polishing Place rubber dams and matrix bands Provide post‑operative and patient education Schedule patient appointments and assist with filling schedule gaps Assist with charting findings and treatment plans Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and information security requirements Monitor patients during treatment for signs of distress Participate in patient identification and time‑out procedures Complete mandatory annual VA training and education
Completion of a one (1) year Dental Assistant program accredited by CODA Minimum one (1) year experience as a Dental Assistant Radiology certification or completion of required safety courses. Current BLS and/or CPR certification Strong communication, Microsoft 365 skills. Experience with electronic health records. Valid U.S. driver’s license. All candidates must be able to: Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist Lift up to 20 lbs Carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance Push/pull with 30 lbs of force All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.
