The clinical specialist pharmacist is responsible for providing drug therapy management, patient monitoring, and medication education in an ambulatory setting. They also lead quality improvement initiatives, supervise pharmacy staff, and collaborate with providers to ensure safe and cost-effective pharmaceutical care.
Candidates must hold a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Pharmacy degree and a valid Colorado Pharmacist license. A minimum of 4 years of experience in the specialty area or completion of a PGY2 residency is required.
Ability to work as a team member. Effective oral and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong analytical skills necessary to identify and resolve problems related to drug therapy. Ability to instruct, direct, and evaluate employees- will be required to assume responsibility for daily operations. Ability to work independently and with little supervision. Prior experience and/or knowledge of process improvement practices Thorough knowledge of the practices and principals involved in the preparation of nonhazardous and hazardous sterile compounds. Proficiency with Epic, preferred Proficiency with MS Office, preferred. Proficiency with Pyxis, preferred.
