The Ombudsman investigates and resolves resident complaints in long-term care facilities while advocating for resident rights and quality of care. They also provide community education, support resident councils, and ensure compliance with state and federal reporting standards.
Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in Gerontology, Human Services, Social Work, or a related field. Applicants must also possess knowledge of long-term care regulations and pass criminal, child abuse, and FBI fingerprint background checks.
