The SATOP counselor provides harm reduction education, group therapy, and individual counseling for clients in the Missouri Substance Awareness Traffic Offender Program. Responsibilities include developing lesson plans, completing treatment planning, and ensuring program compliance with agency and state standards.
Candidates must hold SATOP Qualified Instructor (SQI) certification and possess either a Certified Reciprocal Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CRADC) or SATOP Qualified Professional (SQP) credential. Facilitating OEP services specifically requires an MAADC II certification.
The SATOP counselor provides harm reduction education, group therapy and individual counseling for clients enrolled in the State of Missouri Substance Awareness Traffic Offender Program (SATOP). This covers the following SATOP programs: Offender Management Unit assessment (OMU), Offender Education Program (OEP), Weekend Intervention Program (WIP), Clinical Intervention Program (CIP), and Serious and Repeat Offender Program (SROP).
