As a Substance Use Counselor at Prairie Ridge Integrated Behavioral Healthcare, you will provide comprehensive outpatient behavioral health services to individuals, families, and groups. Your work will include conducting assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and delivering evidence-based therapeutic interventions. You’ll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated care, maintain accurate clinical documentation, and support clients in achieving recovery and wellness goals. Bachelor's Degree in health-related field required for treatment of substance use and gambling disorders. For clinicians treating individuals with a primary substance use disorder diagnosis, an Iowa Substance Abuse Counselor Certificate or license preferred; ability to complete certification or license within 1 year of employment considered. Understanding of the mission of Prairie Ridge and the patients we work with. Proficiency in oral and written communication skills, as well as record keeping. Technology skills allowing for proficiency in use of electronic health record. Physical demands: The employee frequently lifts and moves up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
