Provide direct support to clients including wellness checks, independent living skills training, and linkage to community resources. Manage administrative tasks such as answering phones, completing compliance paperwork, and maintaining client logs in the database.
Requires at least one year of personal experience with mental health issues or substance abuse. Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and the ability to explain program rules and regulations to clients.
Provide direct support to clients including but not limited to wellness checks, teaching of independent living skills, and assist clients with linkage to various community resources and services including Medi-Cal, benefits, housing, etc. Provide administrative support to your department/building (answering phones, completing paperwork as it relates to compliance i.e. DOS, Critical Incident Reporting). Conduct new client intake appointments with all new participants and be able to read, clarify and explain all client rules and regulations as it relates to our various services. For the Resource Specialist Role: Provide outreach and engagement with various Community Based Organizations in the form of phone calls, one-on-one outreach meetings, on-site clients transfers, community activities pertaining to client engagement, and group activities. Maintain client log in sheets for services (meals, showers, laundry, etc) and enter in the appropriate relevant information into the database identified by Supervisory staff (OneSystem, Circe). Enforce rules designated for your assigned post with program participants. Maintain regular communication with team members including attendance at monthly staff meetings, and any offsite training meetings that may be established, as well as regular contact with fellow team members at the beginning and end of each shift regarding client updates. Meet all deadlines and comply with the agency’s requirements. Provide individual support to empower and strengthen client self-responsibility, including support to access community resources that foster hope, resilience, and recovery. Availability to work evenings and/or weekends, as needed. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualification A minimum of one year in personal experience with mental health issues and/or substance abuse required. Professional mental health outreach/engagement experience highly desirable. High school diploma or equivalent experience with the ability to read, write, clarify and explain all client rules and regulations as it relates to our various services. Peer Specialist Training program, Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist Certification and/or WRAP facilitator training, a plus. Demonstrated ability to interact with and respect differences of opinion, beliefs, culture, appearances and ways of life. Must be able to lift up to 10 lbs and remain standing for extended periods of time.

$25.00 per hour This position is union-represented by SEIU Local 1021 and is subject to the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
