The clinician provides individual, family, and group therapy while managing a caseload and coordinating care within an inter-disciplinary team. Responsibilities include conducting mental health assessments, developing treatment plans, and ensuring all clinical documentation meets agency and state standards.
A Master's degree in Behavioral Sciences from an accredited university is required for this position. At least 3 years of outpatient clinical experience working with youth and families is preferred.
Complete mental health assessments & updates to gather information regarding client functioning, current symptoms, family history & other information necessary for diagnosing. Assist youth & family in developing & updating a meaningful service plan. For youth in IIBHT, meet with a youth & family within 3 days of admission into program to assess needs and complete the treatment plan. Administer & record various screenings (i.e. CSSRS; GAD-7; OHIO & HOPE scales), as indicated or required by program. Administer & record PHQ-9 screenings for clients every 90 days. Provide family, group & individual services in keeping with evidence-based practices; maintain a strengths-based approach in working with families, community partners, team members & staff. Work from a systems-based approach, to integrate youth’s caregivers/family into therapeutic services on an ongoing basis; inform parents/guardians of all imminent safety concerns; encourage & empower youth to share important information with caregivers/family members, as appropriate & therapeutically beneficial. Obtain, update & confirm Release of Information to consult & coordinate with other community partners and/or family members. Be knowledgeable of community resources; refer clients & facilitate access to these supports. Participate in regularly scheduled supervision, team meetings, agency meetings and required/assigned trainings. Complete & maintain all clinical documents & client files according to compliance standards with the State of Oregon Administrative Rules, CPCCO Quality Assurance Standards established at CBH Maintain productivity in keeping with agency expectations & standards, including a continued focus on treatment goals & timely closing of charts, as indicated. Maintain client confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards of the profession. Coordinate discharge planning with all treatment providers. Remain flexible to the changing demands of a mental health system and the needs of the clients, the team & the agency.
